Fergal McCaul’s love for carpentry began in Ireland at a young age working summers in a cabinet shop. He was encouraged by his Father Gerry to carry along that path, informing him that his great uncles were master joiners in his hometown of Derry. Thus he began his career in the construction industry in New York City in his early teens where he worked with and learned from countless master craftsmen. He began learning carpentry under a master joiner by the name of Sean McCoy who taught him the skills necessary to produce high-quality carpentry with exceptional speed and efficiency. Fergal excelled quickly honing in his craft and obtained the position of Foreman in his early 20s. This period of Fergal’s career quickly taught him the knowledge and skills it takes to get into the business of general contracting. While serving as a project manager he had to learn about all aspects of construction from excavation, to foundation work, and mechanicals. Fergal was eager to learn all aspects of the building process& fortunate to have master tradespeople around him willing to share their knowledge with him. Just as importantly throughout this time, he learned how to effectively run a construction site and produce large projects in the most efficient time frame possible. With his ample amount of knowledge of all aspects of construction, Fergal established Kingsfort Builders in Westchester, NY in 1998 where he was constructing homes in large-scale luxury developments and doing high-end renovations. However, in 2002, Fergal relocated his company to Central New York where he has over the last 20 years built an expansive network of talented designers and the most skilled tradesman in every aspect of the industry. With Fergal’s knowledge and expertise in building and extensive network of Sub Contractors, he excels in performing high-quality custom home builds and renovations, in an efficient time frame throughout Central New York.
